Throughout the year live music can be found in many of the bars on a regular basis and special festivals throughout the year include the world famous Folk Week in August, Dickens Festival in June, the Water Gala in August and Blues festival in February, twice yearly in March and October there is a food festival which invites local farmers and companies to share their wonderful food and drink with the town.
